Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club
Greens put to bed
The 2021 season is over at the Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club. In spite of the challenges presented by covid-19, members had a fun summer with league play and jitneys. The greens have been put to bed now, under a blanket of snow, but we all look forward to more great bowling in 2022.
Newcomers interested in learning how to play and becoming a member are invited to contact Ian Burns at 519-846-0642.
Welcome to the Elora Rocks Bowling Club. Since 1906 our members have been enjoying competitive lawn bowling and having great fun doing it. Our wonderful greens and facilities are at 74 David Street East in Elora.
Lawn bowling is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. It is a sport that you can start at any age, and it is never too late to take up the game.
We bowl from May to September. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have league play – players are teamed in pairs for the season, with novices matched to more experienced players. On Mondays we have jitneys – just turn up and teams are made up at random. On Wednesdays we play 4-3-2-1, a game in which three players face off in a friendly battle for proximity to the “jack”. We also hold a number of tournaments during the season which are open to any bowler affiliated to the Ontario Lawn Bowls Association.
